Most popular pet names of 2019

As we move into the New Year it’s a great time to celebrate all the wonderful pet names of the past year. Pet Insurance Australia has revealed the most popular pet names of 2019 based on their data of 150,000 newly insured pets across the country and there are some cute names in the list!

Royal fever, Disney inspired classics and traditional names dominated the list. The birth of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s baby may have inspired many with Archie listed as the top boys name for dogs and second place for cats. Luna, Bella, Coco and Nala were popular girls names for both dogs and cats.

There were also some traditional names including Charlie, Max, Oscar and Leo for boys and Ruby, Molly, Mia and Lily in the list for girls. Disney inspired classics were also popular with Simba and Nala making the list.
