Follow these steps to make your own personalised bookmark of your pet
Ask an adult to help you with cutting as scissors can be sharp.
What you will need
1 sheet of A4 white paper (or several sheets of coloured paper)
Scissors
A pencil
Eraser
Glue
Coloured markers
Step 1
Take your A4 sheet of white or coloured paper (this will be the body colour of your pet bookmark).
Fold it over one corner to create a triangle.
Cut off the excess (save the excess for Step 5).
Rotate your triangle so the folded long edge is at the bottom and the open point is at the top (refer to last photo).
Step 2
Fold the lower right corner to meet the top point of the triangle.
Repeat for the left side.
Fold these two back open.
Fold down one of the top sheets and crease.
Step 3
Fold the flaps you created back up and tuck into your bookmark.
Repeat for the other side.
Now you have your bookmark, its time to shape and decorate it to look like your pet!
Step 4
Using your pencil draw a “W” shaped curved at the bottom of the bookmark (this will be the mouth)
Also use your pencil to shape the body.
When you are happy, use your scissors to cut the mouth and body shape (ask an adult for help as scissors can be sharp).
Step 5
Use the excess paper from step 1 to draw a nose, ears, patches, tongue and tail (or any other special markings that your pet has).
Colour these in and cut them out.
You can also use coloured paper instead.
Step 6
Experiment around to see where you would like the extra pieces, then glue them down with a glue stick.
Finally draw on some black eyes. You can also draw on whiskers for a cat or rabbit.
Congratulations! You can now use your personalised pet bookmark!
